Corporate Social Responsibility Our Guiding PrinciplesAt HPS, we believe we have both a moral and a business imperative to be a good neighbour wherever we operate, and demonstrate socially responsible initiatives as a commitment to this belief. We must maintain strong and mutually beneficial relationships with communities and stakeholders wherever we live and work and always strive to ´do the right thing´. HPS guides its conduct through policies and practices that apply to every HPS employee across our global operations, from senior management to front-line team members, such as the Employee Code of Conduct & Ethics and the Mission, Vision, and Values. These serve as guidelines in the ongoing development of strategies, business plans, and processes at both the corporate and facility-specific level. Our values operate within the context of our fundamental business objectives, which is to create value for our stakeholders. We believe strongly that profitability and social responsibility are not mutually exclusive, but rather mutually reinforcing. Only by thriving as a growing and profitable manufacturer can we generate the results that brings sustainable benefits to our employees, suppliers, and communities, as well as to our shareholders.
Local Charities & Non-Profit Organizations
Our Corporate Donation Policy allows us to demonstrate the involvement, compassion and commitment to the communities we live and work in. HPS donates to individual charities and non-profit organizations, inlcluding specific requests brought forward by employees, to encourage and support the participation of HPS employees in various charitable events. HPS supports such ventures through financial contributions, promoting employee volunteerism and other resources. Corporate dollars are primarily given to initiatives in health, education, social services, the environment, arts and culture, and civic leadership and volunteerism.
Social Committees
Social Committees promote friendship and goodwill among employees through various social functions organized throughout the year. Our Social Committees typically sponsor discounts extended to employees and their families for social and recreational activities outside the workplace, and various company events including BBQ's and holiday functions by providing prizes and give-aways. Supporting our Social Committee initiatives is always voluntary, though we encourage every employee to participate in these fun events! |
