Phase voltage across the open 'V' tends to be slightly out of balance when compared to the other two phases. The 2909 series are available for motor horsepower ratings from 20HP to 1600HP.

3009 Series Motor Starting Autotransformers
These three phase, 3 coil motor starting autotransformers are suitable for motor starters with 3 contacts, connected in a 3 phase 'Wye' configuration. This provides balanced voltages across each phase. The 3009 series are also available for motor horsepower ratings from 20HP to 1600HP.
