Role Overview:
The Walkerton facility has an immediate opening for a Plant/ Maintenance Electrician. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position will be accountable for managing the full spectrum of building and equipment maintenance. Some outdoor work is required.
Maintenance activities include:
- Maintain motors and controls, generators, transformers, instrumentation, test equipment, lighting, PLC (programmable logic controls)
- Low voltage distribution systems, communication and data systems, climate control systems, emergency power and stand-by systems. PLC programming experience required.
- Control panel wiring
- TPM Total PReventative Maintenance
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical systems
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Performing electrical repairs and modifications
- Testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Performing routine maintenance on plant equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
Qualifications:
We are seeking an individual who possesses a post secondary degree or diploma, coupled with a valid Industrial Electrician's license (442A) or Construction & Maintenance Electrician's license (309A). Ticket as a Gas Technician (G1) & Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) would be a definite asset. Competent knowledge of SOP's, WHMIS and MSDS required.
Min. 5-8 years experience in the Industrial electrical industry. Experience in a manufacturing plant maintenance setting would be a definite asset.
