Outside Sales Rep (Ontario)

Role Overview:

Reporting to the Canadian Sales Manager, this role is accountable for promoting and selling HPS products, philosophy and company image in accordance with the vision and values established by the company.  The successful incumbent must competently meet sales and margin targets for various customers in designated territories while effectively maintaining marketing margin targets. 

 It is expected that customer forecasts, reports, and competitor data documentation for sales and marketing analysis is completed accurately and within strict time frames. Responsibilities will include the forecasting of orders entered against targets, customer and market knowledge sufficient to develop strategy and projects as assigned. 

Requirements:

• Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) post-secondary diploma or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 2 years of strong, multi-faceted experience in territory/ technical sales, or industry-related discipline & exposure to Distribution and OEM markets
• Demonstrate ability to develop rapport and relationships quickly
• Experience in market development to a diverse customer base
• Ability to learn and readily assimilate customer applications and specifications and apply complex technical information quickly
• Ability to interpret CAD drawings and understand transformer specifications/ applications
• Familiarity with multi-meters and electrical equipment
• Demonstrate outstanding external/internal presentation and oral & written communication skills
• Exhibit leadership qualities, strong people-motivating skills with experience working effectively with internal/ external functional groups including contractors, consultants, and engineers
• Proficient computer software skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Project)
• Willingness to travel extensively
